Happy Espresso Day! 


Today, some parts of the world are celebrating Espresso, and we thought we'd join in, for yet another reason to appreciate this extraordinary drink. 


Affogato al Caffe is an Italian coffee-based dessert, made with rich, creamy ice-cream or gelato, drowned (Affogato is Italian for "drowned" ) in a shot of Espresso. 


This is a simple, indulgent treat that can be made in the blink of an eye, with minimal, yet high quality ingredients - which really determines the success of the dessert.


We use Covim Gold Arabica Coffee Beans (100%), as it offers a flavourful taste and beautiful aroma, and is of the best quality. Grab your favourite decadent ice cream or gelato, and let's whip up this perky delight!




  • 1 shot freshly brewed espresso
  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream or gelato 
  • 1 tablespoon liqueur of choice (optional)
  • chocolate shavings and almond flakes for topping (optional)


  • Brew your espresso
  • Place 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream into a chilled glass serving container and pour over a shot of espresso. 
  • Drizzle liqueur over the ice cream, and garnish with chocolate and almond shavings (optional)
  • Serve with a spoon
